Microsoft DSR is responsible for company-wide information security and compliance, with a strategic focus on information protection, assessment, awareness, governance, and enterprise business continuity. As customer zero, we deploy and secure these services inside Microsoft and then share best practices with enterprise customers at scale across the globe. The Office of the CTO in this division has a charter to drive strategy, vision, definition & implementation of security architectures that make step-function improvements in Microsoft’s security posture. While this team is deeply technical, our success relies on a strong culture and the ability to influence feature development teams, SecOps teams and partner organizations.

We are looking for a growth oriented people manager who can lead a team of PMs and Architects with a balanced set of incubation, design, data informed decision making, partner engagement, and execution skills who embraces the cultural values of inclusion and belonging and embraces the opportunity to do the following:

Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
Manage a team of strong senior architects and technical program managers with deep security expertise
Set the vision and strategy for the DSR organization as part of the DSR CTO office
Drive both short-term and long-term security initiatives that are top-priority for Microsoft’s security posture – such as Zero Trust, Conditional Access, Passwordless, Secure Administration Services, Sovereign clouds etc.
Engage with product groups in the Identity & Security spaces to shape their roadmaps while being the voice of customer zero (Microsoft Digital).
Drive the development and maintenance of security reference architectures that showcase best practices to internal and external customers
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Software Design, or a related field, or equivalent alternative education, skills, and/or practical experience is required
15+ years of experience in Software Engineering, Software Development or Technical Program Management
5+ years of People Management experience
Preferred Qualifications:
In-depth knowledge and understanding of cloud security, as well as security architectures.
Prior experience and working understanding of cloud-scale technologies.
Proven competency in strategic leadership, organizational agility, cross-team collaboration, drive for results, and written and verbal communications
5+ years of information security experience
A strong desire to learn-it-all, while fostering an inclusive environment
10+ years managing people, including engineers.
Experience driving security requirements across multiple teams and products
5+ years managing PMs and/or architects
5+ years of cloud services experience, including building and deploying products at scale
