What is the opportunity?

You will assist operational risk management leadership by providing/developing data strategy to enhance management’s/stakeholders’ ability to anticipate and manage operational risks effectively. You will support the Senior Director Technology in building out robust technology and data management capabilities to support the execution of the Operational Risk management framework and to enhance data driven decision making across operational risk domains. 

You will provide ongoing feedback, advice, analysis and support on data sourcing strategy and supports implementation of the robust data quality monitoring process. You will be responsible for development of the operational risk data domain roadmap and accountable for the implementation of the data governance and change management processes for the risk taxonomies.

What will you do?

• Partner with cross functional team to define and implement key risk taxonomies and business hierarchy
• Define and facilitate change management process for key taxonomies
• Maintain  operational risk conceptual and logical data models
• In this role you will be responsible for data sourcing strategy
• Partner with internal GRM stakeholders and DMO team to develop and implement Operational Risk Domain Roadmap
• In this role you will be responsible for the periodic Operational Risk Data Domain Charter refresh
• In this role you will be responsible for documenting and maintaining list of key operational risk processes and Critical Data Elements (CDEs)
• Lead implementation of the data quality controls, and ongoing completeness and accuracy assessment and monitoring of Critical Data Elements (CDEs)
• In this role you will be responsible for the documenting and maintaining the data linage information for OR Critical Data Elements (CDEs)
• Partner with IT in identifying and implementing tools/software/architecture required to meet the analytics and reporting needs of the operational risk team

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

• Bachelor's Degree; Master's Degree preferred
• 10 years of experience in a relevant functional areas including financial services, information technology, or other related operational area that supports risk/compliance initiatives within the organization
• Knowledge of data management and operational risk management practices;
• Knowledge of data governance and data quality principles, tools, processes
• Deep understanding of the Operational Risk data domain as well as cross domain interfaces and dependencies
• Knowledge of the data architecture principles and data modeling techniques 
• Ability to interpret business requirements and understand their technology implications
• Ability to work collaboratively, develop strong relationships and influence people/groups of varying disciplines and backgrounds.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
• Ability to quickly and efficiently adapt to new concepts.

Nice-to-have

• Strong working knowledge of Operational Risk Management concepts and processes
• Working knowledge of industry Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) solutions/packages
• Strong knowledge and skills of RBC data, analytics  methodology, practices and tools
• Knowledge of Project Management (PMF) process/disciplines
