What is the opportunity?
As Director, you are responsible for leading the AML Regulatory Reporting Program for large cash transactions (LCTs) and electronic funds transfers (EFTs), and for providing advice and counsel on regulatory requirements and expectations related to reporting. You provide oversight of the health of RBC’s regulatory reporting including completeness, accuracy and timeliness. Additionally, you provide independent assurance to key stakeholders on the effectiveness and adequacy of RBC’s regulatory reporting practices and controls and continually evolve RBC’s regulatory reporting into an integrated, efficient and effective professional practice. As Director, you attract and assist in the development of highly competent compliance professionals to ensure RBC maintains highly skilled and motivated resources.
What will you do?
Strengthen RBC’s existing FINTRAC reporting program through analysis of key controls to determine areas for improved effectiveness
Identify and implement operational solutions that will enhance and improve efficiencies of processes and address any rejects or warnings received from FINTRAC
Improve RBC’s reporting compliance through targeted analysis of existing reporting logic and rules to identify gaps/issues that may result in under or over reporting
Lead various initiatives/projects to enhance RBC’s reporting to ensure compliance with the amendments to the Proceeds of Crime Money Laundering Terrorist Financing regulations
Participate in working group sessions with FINTRAC to provide input and feedback on guidance, batch specifications and new forms under development for LCTs and EFTs
Responsible for management and oversight of VSDONCs and self-identified issues related to regulatory reporting gaps ensuring root causes are identified and gaps addressed
Mobilize FINTRAC reporting for regulatory exam readiness through participation on various initiatives and project plans and through testing RBC practices against the FINTRAC Assessment Manual to identify opportunities to enhance and ensure compliance
Act as the subject matter expert on the regulatory reporting requirements providing advice and counsel to stakeholders in various business lines
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
5+ years’ knowledge of Canadian AML laws and regulations
Excellent analytical, written and verbal communication skills
Strong impact and influence skills with business partners and senior stakeholders
Prior leadership and people management experience
Bachelor’s degree required
Nice-to-have
CAMs designation
