Salary:              $500,000 plus 10% superannuation

Non-monetary component: $25,000

Our client Wollongong Diagnostics Dapto Pty Ltd. is a privately-owned, non-corporate radiology practice with branches in Wollongong, Warrawong and Corrimal. Client aims to create a radiology practice which provides a friendly service and is easily accessible for the clients - patients and referrers alike.

Wollongong Diagnostics provides Specialist Diagnostic Imaging services to include General X-rays, Ultrasound (General, MSK, Vascular, and Obstetric), CT, MRI, Mammography. Tele radiology reporting within Wollongong Diagnostics located within the Illawarra Region NSW. Client also provides on and off-site radiology support to other local practices and via teleradiology to some regional radiology practices along the south coast of NSW.

Client is looking for suitably qualified medical practitioner for the position of Diagnostic and Interventional Radiologist. This is a full time, permanent position with tremendous potential for growth. The interested candidates should have a sound knowledge of general radiology with good nonvascular interventional skills in Ultrasound and CT, including biopsies, drain placement and imaging guided injections etc.

Role requires devoting full time and energies to fulfilling your duties in a professional manner with the highest standards associated with the practice of radiology and in accordance with standards set by the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (RANZCR).

You are a dynamic medical professional, described as enthusiastic and motivated to perform at your best every day. The successful applicant should have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate well with referral sources, patients, technical staff and support personnel.

Minimum Requirements:

You must hold a bachelor’s degree a bachelor degree or higher qualification, two years hospital-based training, and at least five years specialist study and training.

Essential: 

  • Registration by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) with a current annual practicing certificate
  • Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (FRANZCR) including maintenance of CPD and good standing as required by AHPRA for the maintenance of Specialist Registration.
  • Sub specialist training in MRI, Interventional radiology would be an advantage

In this role your main responsibilities include:

  • Deliver services in accordance with professional standards and clinical/business procedures and protocols
  • Interpret the results from diagnostic imaging procedures to determine diagnoses
  • Prepare reports for General X-rays, Ultrasound, CT, MRI and Mammography
  • Confer with medical professionals regarding image-based diagnoses
  • Perform all Interventional Procedures as required and to be proficient in, Facet Joint Injections, FNA’s, Core Biopsies and Drainages
  • Report Tele Radiology for all entities associated with Wollongong Diagnostics on investigations 
  • Develop the Wollongong Diagnostics business by liaising with referrer’s and

developing professional relationships

  • Develop or monitor procedures to ensure adequate quality control of images
  • Develop and maintain good relationships with the Local Community, Referring Doctors and persons within the health industry
  • Comply with Wollongong Diagnostics Code of Conduct and Code of Ethical Standards
  • Comply with all laws and rules relating to the affairs of Wollongong Diagnostics and all professional and legal standards
  • Participate in quality improvement activities

Skills

You will need to possess the following skills and personal attributes:

  • Demonstrated knowledge, skills, experience and high standards of practice in Radiology
  • Demonstrated ability in the provision of a patient focused, comprehensive, high quality and cost-effective clinical service with knowledge and commitment to the implementation of best practice and innovation
  • Broad knowledge in all aspects of radiology to a level for safe, independent consultant practice
  • Experience in General Radiology, CT, Mammography, Ultrasound & Interventional procedures
