Intoduction:

The main purpose of the role is to manage the Software Asset Management Governance for Desktop Software. This includes the Fulfilment, Procurement, Removal & Testing of Desktop Software

What will you be doing?

  • Manage the e2e Desktop software life cycle
  • Manage the package request, testing and live deployment of new software in adherence to Barclays standards, liaising with other infrastructure teams as appropriate
  • Ensure that new versions of existing products are packaged and deployed to users in a timely manner
  • Collaborate with Business colleagues and stakeholders to drive software products and process improvements and share best practice across the business.
  • Management and delivery of cost saving initiatives through contract renewals and licence optimization
  • Proactive approach to continual service improvement and enhancement of the user experience
  • Responsible for ensuring Desktop software spend and purchase orders are managed in line with global process and governance.
  • To manage all the information which is present in the software service catalogue and make sure that is it is precise and up to date
  • Manage the demand challenge and provisioning workflow for all relevant Desktop software products in the Request tools
  • Manage relationship with vendors and third parties to evaluate new products and solutions, negotiate agreements and discussion on issues resolution on product challenges.

What we're looking for:

  • Ability to work on own initiative with support and as part of a team, working to tight deadlines.
  • Ability to delegate tasks but remain overall accountable.
  • Good understanding of Desktop software products and the licensing models
  • Good knowledge of MS Excel MS PowerPoint and MSWord
  • Ability to follow and understand complex license models, software fulfilment process and management of software requests & queries.
  • Base understanding of the IT Structures and functions within Barclays.
  • Experience of providing services to a broad and demanding customer base.
  • Experience of stakeholder management, including the ability to interact with senior clients, staff and third party vendors.
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills and able to transfer skills and knowledge to other team members.
  • The ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
  • Skilled at business improvement and analysis and a desire to improve and streamline processes.

Skills that will help you in the role:

  • Good communication skills.
  • Excellent Team Player
  • Good understanding of the Software Asset Management Standard and associated controls
  • Good Awareness of Barclays processes and tools including MyIT & Service First.
  • Previous Experience of managing Software requests
  • Understanding of different license models
  • 2-3 years of experience in similar domain
  • ITIL Certified will be an added advantage
