Development Associate required to join a commercial real estate company based in DC, role financial focused.

I am exclusively partnering with a Commercial Real Estate company based in Washington DC who are looking to hire a Development Associate at a very exciting time in the organization’s growth plan. This is a Development Associate position with a core focus on financial management, including financial commercial real estate analyst, research and analytics, development, and construction management, and also asset and lease management.

About the company and position oversight:

• A privately owned, market leader over many years in the Washington DC Commercial Real Estate industry looking to hire a Development Associate, concentrating on the front-end financials of real estate.
• This organization own and operate their own commercial real estate assets and have significant growth plans. Traditionally focused on commercial office space, this CRE firm are looking to further invest in this asset pool but also diversifying into multifamily and mixed-use space. They have ambitious plans in the coming years to at lease triple the size of their current portfolio.
• This Development position will play an integral role in overseeing the front-end stages of acquiring new assets, as well as the entitlements, zoning and permitting of new development and construction activity.
• Conduct research and market analysis related to new business opportunities, acquisitions, and development.
• Prepare financial modeling and analysis of properties for new acquisitions and assisting portfolio.
• Prepare presentations for meetings with senior managers within the organizations.

What you will need to succeed:

• 3-8 years of professional experience, with a focus in a finance related role. Commercial real estate and/or construction is not required however would be a bonus. Your experience to date could be as a development associate, financial analyst, asset management or acquisitions.
• Bachelor’s degree in real estate, finance or related field is required; Master’s degree in real estate or finance would be a great addition but not required.
• Excellent computer skills in MS Word and Excel including experience with financial analysis using Excel or similar spreadsheet program is required. Experience using PowerPoint is required.
• You will be able to demonstrate strong skills in finance, be numbers, research, analysis and analytics driven and have a passion for learning real estate development and construction.
• Ability to multi-task and work hands on in a fast-moving company.

• Base salary up to $100k, depending on experience and skill level.
