At Smilecare Dental Studio we pride ourselves in making the dental experience as pleasant as possible for our patients. We want them to feel welcomed, listened to and understood, so as together we can achieve the best possible outcome for their oral health. We're currently looking for a fantastic individual for the role of Dental Assistant at our three-clinic practice. Your warm and welcoming nature will ensure that every patient that comes to us has THE BEST possible dental experience. You'll have great time management skills, enthusiasm for your role, an empathetic approach to people, and a willingness to go that extra mile to provide a fantastic customer experience to our patients.

Qualifications & experience

Previous experience in dental assisting

Friendly and empathetic manner with a good sense of humour when appropriate

Must be computer literate, preferably with a working knowledge of practice management software (EXACT)

Able to multitask with ease, especially in demanding situations

Knowledge and experience in the dental industry is desirable

Strong interest in dental healthcare

Well organised, professional approach to the role and a team player

Have a tidy appearance and be in good health

Applicants must have a current NZ work visa & be fully vaccinated (in accordance with Ministry of Health guidelines)

Tasks & responsibilities

Assisting patients and clinician through a diverse range of dental procedures

General dental assisting duties, including dental charting and digital x-ray processing

Instrument sterilisation duties, infection-control and stock-control

Educating patients about various products and treatments

Preparing impression materials and pouring laboratory models

Part time position: Thursday & Friday 8.30am to 5.30 pm with further casual days as available
