Rotation Program
The Rotation Program seeks to hire data scientists to provide them with work experience and the opportunity to share their knowledge to solve challenges across various lines of business within the Bank. These data experts will spend 6 months in different sectors to then join one of the lines of business. The Rotation Program offers an occasion to learn and apply data science across multiple lines of business within the Bank.
Job Description
The position will provide opportunities to interpret and communicate complex technical concepts to users of analytical platforms and work in big data environments.
Details about the role:
Work in a flexible environment with opportunities for remote, hybrid, or office environments with a customized onboarding and support program to promote success on the job
Collaborate with internal business partners, understand their needs, and help them in identifying opportunities for growth
Establish the ideal conditions to modernize the practice of customer analytics
Advise your business partners on advanced analytical solutions and processes to help them to achieve their objectives
Produce and communicate the results of your analysis, which often requires the adaptation and/or implementation of original, creative, and practical analytical solutions
Recommend actions that guide the direction and strategies of your business partners and/or your team
Demonstrate your understanding of the Bank’s priorities and the contribution of advanced analytics to the achievement of these priorities
Engage and maintain relationships with other teams to encourage knowledge sharing and facilitate collaboration
Required qualifications and certifications (Must have):
Bachelor’s degree in data science, computer science, information technology, math, statistics, or a related field, with internship or professional experience
Proficiency in at least one programming language (SQL, Python strongly preferred*) and knowledge of SAS
Comfortable working with agile content and multidisciplinary teams
Bilingual in oral and written form (French and English)
Technical Experience (Must have):
Mastering concepts and requirements for advanced analytics and time series analysis (ranging from exploration to predictive models, clustering, detection of anomalies, optimization under constraints)
Mastering underlying development concepts, surrounding the machine learning context
Experience on analytical projects
Experience in operating high-volume data and complex environments used for the development of advanced analytical applications
Desired skills and competencies (Nice to have):
Interest in business, customer needs and customer experience improvement
Excellent synthesis and analytical skills
Effective communication skills, and management of interpersonal relationships
Knowledge of big data environments and of the financial sector’s analytical environments are an asset
