Is one of the largest employers in the Canterbury region, they are investing heavily into technology consider it integral to achieving their goals. They are looking for a Data Engineering Manager to lead a small team of Data Engineers within their Data Analytics team.

Your new role

Reporting into the Head of Data Analytics, you will play a key leadership role within the wider Digital, Data & Analytics team. You will lead a small team of data engineers to enhance the data analytics ecosystem which is core to meeting strategic objectives. Your valuable insights will help enhance and embed pre existing and new tools for ingestion, transformations, data lake/warehousing and BI Tools.

Some key responsibilities include:

• Managing the data platform vendors, ensuring that deliverables are on time, to budget and of quality.
• Design, develop and implement effective workflow and release processes
• Ensure that data pipelines are robust and have alerting for early detection of data pipeline issues

What you'll need to succeed

This role has a balanced blend of technical work and people leadership, it will suite a senior looking at taking a step into management or someone currently leading a small team. Hands on experience with the following are essential - developing data pipelines from on-premise to cloud, extracting and manipulating large disconnected data sets as well as designing, building and maintaining data architecture and data processing systems
