Responsibilities

• Work in the multimedia search and recommendations space.
• Innovate by bringing in state-of-the-art ideas in AI/CV/NLP to Bing multimedia scenarios, especially by leveraging Bing’s web index and user engagement data.
• E2E ownership including data collection, measurement and analysis, model training and deployment.
• Explore business growth opportunities via exploratory data analysis on large-scale, diverse data.

Collaborate with other data scientists, distributed system engineers and product managers to delight users with new web experiences.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• Masters/PhD in CS or related areas with focus or 2+ years of experience in one or more of: deep learning, computer vision, NLP, information retrieval, recommendation systems
• 2+ years of experience with distributed deep model training using Pytorch/Tensorflow
• 3+ years of experience with general purpose programming language (C/C++/C#/Java/Python etc.)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Comfortable with E2E ownership and taking on some engineering challenges for data collection and deployment pipelines.
• Aware of latest research in CV/NLP
• Passionate about ethical AI
• Good communication and collaboration skills
• Comfortable with ambiguity and good with quick prototyping, adapting, and innovating
• Good design and problem-solving skills

• Experience in large scale distributed computing e.g. Hadoop/Spark/Cosmos/Scope.
• Experience with multi-modal AI, ranking or recommendation systems
• High rank in Kaggle competitions
• Expertise in driving user engagement through AI techniques
• Expertise in measuring and mitigating bias/unfairness/harmful content in AI systems
• Publications in top conferences: CVPR, NeurIPS, ICML etc
