The WebXT Platform team is looking for a Data and Applied Scientist with strong analytical and development skills to join our expanding team. In this role you will be deeply involved with our product use and performance data from across Windows, Bing, News and other consumer brands. This is a unique opportunity to create significant impact by utilizing your data science background to build and develop insights and models that will have a direct impact on delighting our end-users. You will collaborate with a combined team of Data Science and Engineering professionals who are architecting the next generation of our data services. We’re looking for passionate people who love data and will bring their creativity, analytical experience and machine learning background and want to make a direct impact on our products and services.

Responsibilities

• Partner with program managers, engineers and partner product teams across the business to develop valuable insights that will influence product and business decisions.
• Mine large datasets for identifying opportunities, stitch data from multiple sources, and create connected datasets.
• Identify patterns and common needs across the team where we can build reusable machine learning services and components that increase our products availability, performance and user interaction.
• Define, invent, and deliver behavioral and human labeled metrics which accurately measure our products performance, use and satisfaction of our customers.
• Design and develop machine learning pipelines for a live service at scale.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• 2+ years of experience as a data scientist or ML engineer or applied scientist or researcher in the field of machine learning
• 3+ years of experience in a modern programming language (Python, C#, Java, etc.)
• Technical data analysis/modeling experience using Excel/R/Power BI/SAS/STATA or similar platforms
• Experience with Big Data ingestion, storage, and distributed processing pipelines (e.g. Spark, Hadoop, HDFS, Azure Data Lake)
• BA or BS in Computer Science or Engineering, equivalent alternative education

Preferred Qualifications:

• MS or PhD in Computer Science or Engineering
• Exceptional written and verbal communication to educate and work with cross functional teams
• Innate curiosity and ability to thrive in an ambiguous and rapidly changing startup environment. Self-starters and innovators with a positive, collaborative can-do attitude and a growth mindset
• Experience with real world system building and data collection, including design, coding and evaluation 
• Deep understanding of A/B experimentation and score carding best practices
• Solid experience with common machine learning frameworks: TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras, Spark ML
