An American Company is seeking a Remote Data Analyst

Role Description

The Data Governance Analyst (DGA) will work with the Enterprise Optimization Team and the Data Governance Team to support Data Governance in the Finance function. The DGA will focus on delivering a robust data management solution to make data a strategic asset of the organization. The DGA will leverage data analysis and business process experience to improve and sustain the quality and integrity of data as well as instill trust with business stakeholders through excellent communication skills and reliable insights about analytical techniques and methodologies to varying audiences. The DGA will provide support and document gathering the most complex and often unique business requirements by defining the business problem, identifying data requirements, and isolating data elements

Principal Job Elements & Responsibilities:

• Support a standardized reporting platform that provides analytic solutions and metrics for all levels of the enterprise

• Demonstrate analytic based strategies thru the technical development of pilot solutions

• Analyze and document issues in the governance of enterprise data, including problem, opportunity and solution resolutions

• Create, support, document, and/or assist in the development of solutions for improving data integrity issues

• Work with Business Intelligence (BI) and EOT to support a reporting and dashboard framework

• Conduct training workshops aimed at deploying key Data Governance roles

• Support and document data research to root cause level and explain findings to people with varying backgrounds

• Independently, perform or manage multiple complex to highly complex, and often unique, work assignments and problem resolution across systems, processes, people, and/or channels

Skills & Requirements

• 3+ years’ experience as a Data Analyst / Data Business Analyst on Business Intelligence or Data projects (e.g., data governance, data warehousing/business intelligence, meta data management, master data management)

• Must possess experience with developing reports leveraging BI tools (MS Power BI preferred)

• Must possess strong proficiency w/ MS Excel

• Must possess intermediate proficiency w/ SQL

• Must possess a fundamental understanding of server infrastructure

• Basic understanding of Azure highly preferred

• Excellent communication, interpersonal & leadership skills suitable for understanding requirements, driving ideas & building consensus across an organization

• Bachelor’s Degree required

Preferred Skills / Requirements

• Experience working within financial industry – financial servicing firm, hedge fund, bank or related field – is a plus
