Job Description

Contract type:  Part time position 22.5 hours per week 

Hours: 22.5 hours per week (Thursday, Friday, Saturday 8.30AM – 4.30PM)

Centre:  SPCA Auckland Centre (based in Mangere)

About the role

We are looking for a friendly, positive, organised person to join the awesome team that work on our busy adoptions desk. You will be responsible for creating the first impression our customers receive when they walk through our doors, so you must have a warm and welcoming attitude and excellent customer service skills. Responsibilities include retail sales, managing donated items, administration and processing animal adoptions.

What we need from you 

Our ideal Candidate will:

· Have excellent communication and customer service skills

· Have a friendly and positive attitude, and strong interpersonal skills

· Have an understanding of animal welfare (animal handling experience or qualification would be advantageous) 

· Have excellent administration and organisation skills

· Flexibility in working hours, be willing and able to cover/swap shifts as required

· Have excellent computer skills, including experience with POS programmes and invoices

· Be proactive and enjoy working in a team environment

· Demonstrate empathy and resilience

· Have the ability to work in a fast paced environment

· Have a love for working with both people and animals
