We are seeking a permanent, full-time Customer Service Library Assistant to work in our Lending Services Team. This position is based mainly at our Manukau Campus Library but will include a rostered week day at our ÅŒtara Campus Library. This position is worked Monday to Friday and requires flexible working arrangements across the full span of the Library's opening hours including an evening shift (until 6 pm).

The main responsibilities are to assist with general library circulation duties and answering basic information enquiries. It is essential to have excellent verbal and written communication skills, a commitment to providing top quality customer service, a high level of proficiency in the use of information technology, especially MS Office, a team focus and empathy to other cultures. A tertiary qualification is preferred and previous library experience is desirable.

This is an entry level position, and our ideal candidate would be someone who has started, or intends to study towards a career in librarianship.
