Description
The Creative Technologist will make our ideas better by leveraging the power of tech and development. In this hybrid role, you will be challenged on a daily basis with finding innovative tech solutions to creative ideas.
This is a hands-on role and you will be expected to get involved in live projects; your work will involve a mix of project work, proof-of-concept and liaising with clients and internal teams to strategize, define and design applications and campaigns.
We work on projects across all devices with a lot of social integration and you’ll be expected to have a detailed understanding of current and future public APIs.
OFFICE HOURS
Monday – Friday, 9am-5.30pm
Work from home available upon agreement.**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic
- Work with clients to educate, inform and inspire
- Partner with internal teams to ideate concepts and product deliverables to answer client briefs
- Be actively involved in new business, from attending meetings, bringing new concepts to clients and acting as a thought-leader for the agency
- Provide internal teams with resources and inspiration to assist the pitch process
- Represent the technical side of the agency
- Become knowledgeable about the new business process; attend client meetings, present prototypes and concepts
- Prototype or wireframe concepts in an easily understood way for clients
- Provide recommendations for the best technology fit and user experience
- Drive experimentation with new technologies and develop applications that can be taken to market quickly to showcase organisational thought leadership
- Develop a culture of excellence around the creative use of technology beyond advertising and marketing
UX/UI
- Provide insight and recommendations to internal teams and clients for best user experience
- Design the overall architecture of the application
- Translate UI/UX wireframes to visual elements
- Strong front end knowledge (responsive HTML, cdd, sass, jss)
- Interest in modern technologies (node.js, angular, react)
- Lead product road mapping, wireframing and design
- Prototype concepts for presenting to clients
Technical
- Create technical solutions using custom, open source and off the shelf technology
- Integration of front-end and back-end aspects of the applications
- Produce server-side code to develop complex, interactive and database driven sites and applications
- Keen interest in driving new technologies and methodologies
- Clean, reusable, self-documenting code
- Proficiency in back end languages such as PHP, Ruby or Python
- Understanding and experience with VR and AR
- Experience working with API’s
- Discipline source control (git)
- Database design and management
- Understand mobile technologies – predominantly iOS
- Evolve applications to ensure maximum performance and stability
System Administration
- Implementation of security and data protection
- Familiarity with Unit Testing, TDD and Continuous Integration
- Comfortable with AWS
- Understanding of network and storage
- Linux and basic shell scripting
- Coordinate testers to ensure quality is maintained
- Work with other developers to prove deliverables
Project Management
- Set and adhere to project timelines and budgets
- Manage additional developer requirements
- Recruit and train freelance and/or permanent developers as the team grows
- Communicate comfortably with the account service team
- Attend meetings with client’s technical team as required
- Scope projects, provide timelines and budgets to client management team
- Understanding of Agile processes and methodologies
- Provide leadership and vision for the technical team and wider business
- Set up systems and processes for the ongoing maintenance of products with clients and license partners
KEY SKILLS
- Full stack developer comfortable with platforms and software mentioned above
- Flexible and easy to work with
- 5+ years experience in a similar, fast-paced agency role
- Self-starter, able to work with minimal supervision
- Experience leading small teams of developers / freelancers
