Responsibilities
Manage a diverse team of employees and vendors to run all business aspects of a large, long-term Program
Utilize in-depth knowledge and understanding of all aspects of Program Management (including Finance, Delivery, Scope, Contracts / Subcontracts, Risk, Scheduling, Staffing, Communications, Quality Assurance, Deliverables) to run the business of the Program
Be the primary customer interface for all business aspects of the Program
Act as trusted advisor to the Customer, Program Executive and Company General Manager on all aspects of the business
Utilize broad understanding of business practices to maintain a proper balance between customer and business needs
Provide additional support and operate as the delegate for the Program Executive (PE)
Work with project managers advising on all program management functions
Managers deliver success through empowerment and accountability by modeling, coaching, and caring
Manages stakeholder relationships both internally (e.g., with Customer Success, Engineering product teams, Operations, Finance, local services management) and externally (e.g., with partners and partner leads). Synthesizes and combines broad insights from personal or teams' experience regarding former delivery experiences with Customers. Proactively leverages relationships across Domains to resolve complex staffing issues and to create clarity
Understands customer and subcontractor obligations, and engages in obligation management. Drives Consulting Project Managers to maintain the right contacts in service systems and target surveys. Champions the creation of feedback plans based on survey and constructive feedback. May serve on customer executive steering committees
Reviews and approves original contract and subsequent change requests. Acts as an escalation point should the contract not be of the required quality, or has created ambiguity in the delivery of professional services to the customer
Reviews and approves any subcontractor onboarding (e.g., purchase orders, invoice approvals)
Qualifications
Required/Minimum Qualifications
4+ years of experience in consulting/professional services delivery, project management, or practice management
OR equivalent experience.
2+ years of experience managing a team
Preferred Qualifications
6+ years of experience leading portfolio management, complex programs, or revenue-driven (e.g., 10 million +) programs
OR Bachelor's Degree in related field AND 4+ years of experience leading portfolio management, complex programs, or revenue-driven (e.g., $10 million +) programs
OR equivalent experience
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
2+ years of consulting, professional services, or related financial management experience (e.g., cost management, revenue forecasting).
Ability to represent Vexcel as the primary customer interface for all business aspects of the Program
Experience developing and maintaining long term relationships with clients at both the individual contributor and leadership levels
Experience weighing delivery risks against business / customer needs and developing mitigation strategies as appropriate
Experience reviewing estimate at complete (EAC) documentation to provide accurate forecasts for the Program
Prior experience working in state and local government environments
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Project, Outlook, Excel)
Work with all levels of staff in high activity / fast paced environment to consistently meet deadlines
Ability to motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight timeframes while simultaneously managing various responsibilities
Strong interpersonal skills, ability to debate, dialogue, negotiate, influence and work with both internal and external stakeholders collaboratively and constructively
Willingness to share information, openness to learn from others, and desire to both guide and contribute to the growth of team members
The salary for this role in the state of Colorado is between $116,900 and $175,300.
At Microsoft, certain roles are eligible for additional rewards, including annual bonus and stock. These awards are allocated based on individual performance. In addition, certain roles also have the opportunity to earn sales incentives based on revenue or utilization, depending on the terms of the plan and the employee’s role.
