The opportunity
We are looking for a Consultant or Senior Consultant to join the Transaction Strategy and Execution team in our Perth office. This role is offered on a flexible full time or part time basis.
As part of the TSE team, your specific focus will be advising and supporting clients on operational strategy engagements. Services range from facilitating strategic workshops with clients, coordinating development of strategic plans and designing and leading operational strategic change programs.
Your work will involve collaboration with teams across Strategy and Transactions and the wider firm to address client issues around the Capital Agenda, such as:
Raising capital: do I really understand my core vs non-core business, which parts of my portfolio are underperforming, should I consider a divestment and how would I carve-out that BU, separate it and transition it over to a buyer?
Investing capital: what’s the best way for my business to grow, where should I be allocating my capital organically and inorganically, what acquisitions and alliances will deliver greatest return, how should I plan for and run a buy-side transaction?
Optimising capital: what steps can I take to maximise my business’s performance, how do I design and execute on integration and synergy strategies, how do I adapt my business and operating models and how do I go on and achieve value creation to maximise total shareholder return?
Preserving capital: how can I improve the performance of my business, what rapid performance improvement or cost out levers can I pull, how can I improve liquidity and release cash from my businesses, how do I identify and resolve specific performance issues within my business?
Your key responsibilities
Deliver operational due diligence, operational strategy and operational strategic change assignments including project management and report writing
Build and maintain effective client relationships with stakeholders and be accountable for a high degree of client satisfaction with the engagement process and work products
Developing deliverables in a fast-paced environment and presenting to clients
Identifying key client risks and issues, and mitigating these ahead of time
Reporting directly to Managers, Senior Managers, Directors and Partners
Skills and attributes for success
Operational Strategy – a strong background across the strategy spectrum including developing corporate and operational strategy and designing, launching and leading major strategic change programs with both corporate and government clients
Business and Commercially Driven – working in a fast-paced, exciting environment with sound business acumen to drive value for our clients
Written Reports – effective report structuring and English writing skills, producing written work of the highest quality
Problem-solving – ability to deal with ambiguous challenges and work with assumptions to drive through to solutions on challenging situations
Building Relationships - effective working relationships with clients and teams
Ideally, you’ll also have
1- 3 years of experience in management consulting or corporate strategy roles
A range of relevant experiences on the operational strategy spectrum such as market entry strategy, operating model design, market analysis, commercial and operational diligence, performance improvement, change management
A demonstrated aptitude for quantitative and qualitative analysis
