We are looking for a Consultant - Finance Analyst is will be responsible for supporting the project team in the delivery of projects. This includes taking direction from the lead consultant and assisting with model development, identifying and communicating risks and other activities directed from the lead consultant such as proof of concept development.
Working with the client’s office of finance to develop modern accounting systems that meet both business and reporting and compliance requirements.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assist the Lead Consultant to design the solution and develop policies for the office of finance that best meets the client's requirements.
- Identify and assist in implementing accounting software solutions for the client
- Assist the Lead Consultant by contributing to the development of accounting/ finance project plans, schedules, gathering of financial documentation, and liaising with client employees.
- Perform engagement procedures designed to identify and define issues, review financial reports, statements, and evidence, and document business reporting processes.
- Work with the Lead Consultant to understand assigned project responsibilities and keep the projects on schedule.
- Lead testing to ensure the solution performs as designed meet quality assurance requirements and comply with accounting/ financial reporting standards.
- Develop and conduct formal training programs including necessary materials. Design and conduct knowledge transfer sessions on site or through webinars.
- Support clients through the go-live process and a play key role in promoting solution adoption.
- Act as liaison and interface between customer’s assigned subject matter experts and the project team.
- Create custom financial reports/documentation or reconfigure existing reports/documentation to satisfy client requirements for the office of finance.
- Notify Project Lead of risks, issues or unplanned events that could impact the effectiveness/schedule/budget of the implementation of accounting software solutions.
- Escalate problems to Lead Consultant for awareness and/or resolution
- Complete a handover from Associate Directors on any new projects.
- Participate as a member of the project implementation team in discovery sessions to understand the client's business objectives.
- Advise Lead Consultant of any relationship issues that may become apparent during implementation.
- Play an active role in troubleshooting client issues.
- Participate in weekly status meetings with the Project Lead.
- Keep up to date on administrative tasks such as documenting client issues, communicating agendas, submitting trip reports and weekly expense reports, and updating systems-related client activity.
- Identify and make recommendations to improve work processes as applicable.
Key skills criteria
- Bachelor's degree in an accounting or finance discipline
- Minimum 2 - 4 years of work experience in an accounting/ financial analyst role
- Well organised, self-motivated, team player.
