The NZSIS Legal Team is looking for a talented, highly motivated Commercial Lawyer to join our fun, collaborative team working from either our Wellington or Auckland office. 

We can't reveal all the details of what you will get to work on, but it will be complex and challenging, covering a wide range of commercial and contract matters, involving you in projects big and small.  It will involve engagement with external and internal stakeholders, with General Counsel, and advising the Director-General of Security.

While the role will be predominantly commercial, there will be some opportunity to provide legal advice across a range of other stimulating areas in support of the intelligence collection and protective security functions of NZSIS.

We're looking for someone who is keen to make a difference and be at the cutting edge of legal issues. You will be comfortable advising on mitigating legal risk, as well as supporting the organisation to take opportunities to fulfil its important functions, while ensuring we protect the secrets we need to keep. 

You'll have a great sense of humour, collegial and be hard working who enjoys finding practical solutions to novel issues. We're seeking someone who has at least PQE 5 years, and will appoint at senior or intermediate level depending on skills and experience.
