Join an innovative team that is accelerating public cloud adoption at RBC! We are looking for a passionate and creative Cloud Security Operations Analyst who is excited about problem solving and working with the latest technologies.
As a Cloud Security Operations Analyst, you will utilize your cloud security, software, systems engineering, and operations background to support large-scale, fault-tolerant systems. Your role is to support our customers and the security, reliability, and maximum uptime of RBC’s Cloud Platforms.
You’ll be joining a team that is passionate about what we’re doing. As a member of the Public Cloud Operations team, you will be working with members of the Cloud program including; Technical Support Analysts, Site Reliability Engineers, Platform Engineers, Cloud Architects, and Cloud Security Professionals, through your contributions and by participating in the Security Operations on-call rotation.
What will you do?
Work as part of the team managing our public cloud environments (Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform)
Manage, maintain, and administer security monitoring & alerting systems and processes, ensuring ongoing visibility into the security of our environments
Develop, maintain and execute on system & application maintenance plans for all Information Security Monitoring and Alerting systems
Provide first level Security coordination of Cloud Security event and incident response of incidents and to escalate incidents as appropriate
Develop and execute automated remediation activities for patching and continuous hardening of images and systems to adhere to best practices
Monitor reported information security events on a daily basis, and ensure critical events are immediately escalated and documented in order to quickly respond and protect against threats to the organization
Work with RBC’s purple team to facilitate the simulation of threat scenarios, with the goal of improving effectiveness of security controls, detection, and monitoring.
Effectively liaise and communicate with the cloud operations group, internal customers, security operations center, key business stakeholders and management regarding information security incident events and trends
Refine and automate the security operations processes to improve the incident investigation and triage efficiency
Work flexible hours when necessary and be part of a 24/7 on-call rotation
Demonstrate and promote best practices for teams using our cloud platform by creating educational material and by helping to host cloud native educational events. Create educational documentation on how-to’s and best practices
Must Have’s:
Intermediate experience managing cloud platforms: Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform
Intermediate experience monitoring and searching though data with Splunk
Demonstrated ability to analyze complex security incidents, events and advanced attack techniques
Intermediate experience building/provisioning/automating infrastructure resources in cloud environments
Intermediate experience automating security response plays with Python
A relevant degree or certificate in Security, Computer Science or a comparable field of study, or equivalent practical experience
A background in PaaS/SaaS environment practices, including: maintaining SLAs, load-balancing, high availability, operating system patching, networking, and security management/patching
Strong technical understanding in a variety of hardware and software platforms (Linux & Windows)
Experience with the operational aspects of systems such as monitoring, centralized logging, and alerting with relevant tools
Experience working with Python and PowerShell
Nice-to-Have’s:
Certifications in information security, AWS, Azure, Google Cloud
