Job Description

Ehara taku toa i te toa takitahi. Engari, he toa takitini.

Success is not the work of one, but the work of many.

Permanent, part time position
64 hours per fortnight (0.8FTE)

We have a rare and amazing opportunity for a passionate Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) with pain management nursing experience to join the perioperative team at the Hawke’s Bay DHB. The CNS for the Acute Pain Service (APS) is pivotal to effective pain management delivery. The position provides clinical leadership across the Perioperative service and wider hospital and is supported by an established APS team, management and senior nursing and MDT team.

What are the benefits for you:

  • A permanent, part time (64 hours per fortnight) position
  • Leadership opportunities
  • Excellent pay rates
  • Professional supervision and mentoring to support career development and growth

You will need:

  • Strong dedication to effective and appropriate pain management
  • A high quality patient focussed approach
  • To work as an advanced practitioner with the ability to deliver expert nursing care.
  • A passion for training and education to patients, whanau and health care providers

To be successful you will have clinical independence, be a decision maker, a problem solver and be passionate about the delivery of safe patient care.

A clinical nursing background in pain management and surgical nursing would be an advantage. You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team of professionals.

This is a great opportunity to join a flexible, responsive and smart workforce, dedicated to excellence for every patient, at every contact.

Our District Health Board is large enough to provide variety and depth of work experience, with good support and supervision, yet small enough to be a friendly team with good social interaction
