Job Description
The Capital Markets Client Intelligence team is responsible for producing client, sales and business analytics to enable the businesses we support to effectively monitor performance and make informed business decisions. Our team works closely with the Sales & Trading and Corporate & Investment Banking divisions to design and produce KPIs that track business performance and the success of our firm’s key strategic initiatives. In addition to delivering best-in-class analytics, the team partners closely with technology to enhance our client analytics tools. Recognized as data stewards for the firm, the Client Intelligence team is tasked with identifying strategic data initiatives and leads cross-functional efforts to address data integrity and completeness issues.
Provide data, reporting and analytics support to business stakeholders and senior leadership
Integrate various data sources (internal metrics, client wallet data, qualitative feedback) to create insightful business analytics produce actionable client insights
Leverage competitive benchmarking information to identify opportunities to deepen client relationships, better focus sales efforts and drive revenue uplift
Partner with stakeholders to support the buildout of a holistic and consistent view of client profitability across RBC
Participate in the client planning process for Capital Markets and track actual to plan performance for senior management
Consistently look for ways to automate existing manual processes, driving change management to improve processes, accuracy of data & reporting, and efficiencies
Support data validation and participate in UAT for technology enhancements to our analytics platforms
Look for ways to improve our client technology platforms; partner with stakeholders and technology to increase the effectiveness of our analytics platforms
Bachelor’s degree or higher; at least 2 years of work experience in data, analytics and/or reporting
Positive attitude and collaborative approach
Strong written & verbal communication skills; ability to communicate confidently
Ability to multi-task and manage multiple initiatives and competing priorities at once
Influencing skills; ability to build relationships with key internal stakeholders and partners
Self-starter, ability to progress and deliver initiatives with little direction / oversight
Ambitious & driven; doesn’t settle for status quo and consistently looks for ways to improve
Demonstrated ability to organize large amounts of data and effectively present metrics and analysis
Proficiency in data & reporting tools (i.e., Qlik, Sisense, Tableau, SQL, Python or other)
Advanced proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, formulas, charts & graphs)
Capital Markets experience, knowledge of Global Markets products (Fixed Income, FX, Commodities, Futures and Equities) or Corporate & Investment Banking businesses
Experience working in a trading floor environment with the ability to manage expectations in a fast paced environment
Experience and ability to effectively communicate to senior management in a concise manner
Strong presentation skills, ability to effectively convey messaging
Ability to synthesize large amounts of information to key takeaways and themes for senior management
Strong influencing skills and the ability to effectuate change
Experience in supporting senior leadership teams
Proficiency in Confluence, SharePoint, PowerPoint
