Childcare and Disability support

I’m looking for another friendly, and reliable female student to take on a disability support role for 18 year old girl who has autism and intellectual disability   She is lots of fun and needs someone who can engage with her sense of humour.  It will involve taking her on outings in the community eg the beach or bush walks, hydrotherapy pool and trying out new activities eg special olympics  It will also involve support for personal care and supporting her at home, tabletop activities, supporting her development and supporting her contact with other disabled young people and important people in her life.  

It will involve driving, and some housework including such things as basic food preparation, ironing school uniforms, tidying the kitchen, vacuuming. You will need to have a good level of physical fitness.
 
Hours of work are 10 am to 3 pm on Sunday or Saturday.
Possibilities of more work include:
1. Being an 'essential worker' work would be available in any COVID-19 lockdown,  
2. In the school holidays on Mondays and Fridays,
3. Covering for other carers who are away or
4. Overnight shifts

You must have a full drivers license, a vehicle will be provided.  You will be police checked.  Preference would be given for carers who have some experience caring for people with disabilities.  However previous childcare experience and contactable referees for your previous childcare jobs will also be considered.  Full  training in all aspects of the disability support role will be provided.

The hourly pay rate is between $25.50 to $30 per hour.  The pay rate is determined by whether the Pay Equity Act criteria apply, relevant work experience or on the job performance.
