We are looking for a long term,  caring and kind caregiver for our 11 year old moderately Autistic Son to start ASAP for one weeks (Mon-Wed) paid training.

The job is a Permanent Part time role with 90 day trial period.

 Permanent hours are 10.5 hours with some optional extra hours on offer at times, if our Thursday and Friday caregiver is unwell or on the weekends.

We are looking for some understanding or willingness to understand and learn about  Autism and the differences in behaviour and learning that they struggle with. Our boy is very sociable and friendly, verbal and  loves people and being busy. He is toilet trained but sometimes soils his undies so you will need to be okay dealing with that.

We would like someone who is willing to engage with him and  keep his routine. He spends most of his time on his computer after school, but we need him to have breaks from that as well,  so a willingness to play as well.
 

Days and hours: Monday to Wednesday  after school from 2:30-to 6:00pm.
 

The Start time is 2:30 at our home of residence, (New Lynn) each day, with one day (Monday) being an activity day., when he has music Therapy in Carlton Gore Rd-Lesson 3-:00 -3:45pm. this is why you need a full drivers license.
During the School Holidays we would like to work out a timetable that suits depending the situation, so some flexibility during school holidays 
Wage/hourly rate depends on qualifications from  $23- $27
Travel allowance is $.75c per kilometre and paid with your fortnightly pay as cash amount.

Expectations: Ioane is the priority, so he comes first all the time. 

However, if Ioane is sitting on his computer and happily doing that and all his needs have been met then It would be really helpful if I can come home at the ned of the day and any washing that is dry has been folded, dishwasher emptied if necessary and if our shopping is delivered that it is put away. Its just a few little jobs I would really appreciate being done- nothing big

Typical week would look like-

Monday:
Meet our son at home and  take him to music Therapy in Carlton Gore Rd-Lesson 3-:00 -3:45pm.
Then bring him home and shower and feed him.

Tuesday: Meet Ioane here at home on his return from school by his Taxi driver
Unpack his bag-afternoon tea and he can chill on his computer or watch TV.
5ish -Shower, Dinner which is easy to make as  its just chicken nuggets  in the oven and toast and apple.

Wednesday looks like Tuesday.

He is very loving and sweet most of the time.

 Toileting- he sometimes resists going to the toilet with number twos so there is often a bit of poo on his underpants-we just put in a bucket and we will clean (not you) we have a toilet (bidet) to wash his bottom- we need to help him wipe his bottom and he needs help making sure he washes himself properly in the shower. 

He can put on his undies and shorts (often backwards) LOL but needs help with T-shirt and shoes.
