  • Help the Southern district stay safe from COVID-19
  • Keep our hospitals functioning by helping our staff and the public with up to date information
  • Fixed-term role through to August 2022

COVID-19 is the most significant public health issue of our time, and will affect all aspects of our health services. As a Call Centre Administration Officer at the Southern District Health Board, you'll help keep our staff informed and prepared to manage the risks of COVID 19.

About the team

You'll be working to support our Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) by answering COVID related queries from staff and providing guidance based on Ministry of Health and SDHB guidelines and policies. Reporting to the Service Improvement Manager, you will be supported to ensure our staff are able to access the information they need to manage their own health and queries about operational hospital services when we have community spread of COVID. This is to support the continued running hospital health services efficiently.

About the role

As Call Centre Administration Officer - COVID-19, you will be responsible for providing trusted advice and guidance to our staff. We are accepting full or part-time applications to work between 8am-5pm, five days a week. However, due to the constant evolution of the situation, you may be asked to work evenings and weekends in the future.

The main focus areas of your role will be (but are not limited to) the following:

  • Provide guidance to staff about self-isolation, coming to work and COVID testing expectations
  • Support staff to find information about hospital operations related to COVID
  • Building positive working relationships with the EOC team and wider organisation
  • Know where to find and stay up to date with relevant MOH and internal guidelines and policy

About you

We are looking for a positive, pro-active and motivated individual to step into this crucial role.

You will ideally bring the following skills and experience with you:

  • Excellent customer service experience
  • Strong verbal communication skills
  • Ability to effectively build relationships with people at all levels across the organisation
  • Flexibility to cope with fluctuating work demands
  • Computer literate and experience with MS Office

If you think you have the skills we need and are looking for an opportunity to support our continued COVID-19 response efforts, we would love to hear from you!
