Le Kiosk Café at Airlie Beach is a beautiful cafe located right on the world-class Coral Sea Marina, formerly known as Abell Point Marina. We are proud to serve great tasting coffee with an all-day menu that caters to several streams of clientele and palates (marina & charter boat staff, locals, domestic & international tourists). Due to a change of management, we are seeking an experienced Café Manager to join our fast-growing operations.

As a Café Manager you will be required to oversee the daily operations of this café to provide a superior dining experience.

You will be undertaking the following duties, among others:

• Increase café sales and profitability and generate new income streams
• Be accountable for profitability of the café by controlling costs of goods, inventory levels, labour costs, supplies and expenses
• Plan and modify menus to increase profitability and drive sales
• Maintain proper loss prevention standards, review cash handling procedures
• Oversee and train employees and daily work tasks and ensure compliance with relevant laws
• Ensure proper team member coverage, scheduling according to the needs of business while maintaining budgeted costs
• Ensure effective administration operations of the café
• Maintains high cleanliness standards consistently throughout the café in the areas of café appearance, food, and equipment
• Provide an optimum guest experience and address customer complaints

The position will report to the Director.

The job will be full time, with hours to be worked within 6.00 am and 6.00 pm Monday to Sunday.

Successful applicants must have:

• relevant qualifications including Diploma level qualification or higher
• relevant 3 years food and beverage experience in lieu of formal qualifications
• strong communication and interpersonal skills
• strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• customer service skills
• knowledge to handle accounting and payroll, and maintain the café’s finances
• ability to negotiate with vendors for lower prices or better service
• prior experience in a touristic area with a European background is a definite plus
• ability to speak another European language other than English is an advantage
