What is the opportunity?
The RBC Team in Halifax will be hiring for multiple Business Systems Analyst roles on the Financial Crimes, Finance IT, Risk IT, Fraud and Insurance teams. This role will require you to be located in the Halifax / Nova Scotia region and be able to commute to the office if needed. As a Business Systems Analyst will be responsible for business analysis activities on medium to large sized projects in a highly technical environment. Candidates must demonstrate advanced knowledge and ability, and can apply the competency in new or complex situations. You will be responsible for execution of all aspects of requirements delivery - planning, elicitation, analysis and documentation, management, and support.
What will you do?
- Elicit and analyze Business requirements and create documentation such as current and future state business process, user stories, data catalogues, business rules, use cases and user interface design.
- Contribute to requirements prioritization and leverage techniques to drive out priorities and meet quarterly and annual business objectives.
- Work collaboratively with our business partners and stakeholders from multiple IT teams (i.e. source systems).
- Analyze and review different options for data integration and provide recommendations on the solution; such as assessing and defining materiality of data quality issues and possible impact to project objectives.
- Contribute to data model and system architecture decisions
- Incorporate enterprise standard requirements methodology in requirements planning, analysis and documentation.
- Manage performance through regular coaching discussions, providing transparency on where the employees are at from a performance perspective.
- Support User Acceptance Testing by supporting planning, development of test cases and execution of tests
- Communicate effectively, written and verbal, to various audiences (technical and non-technical)
What do you need to succeed?
Must-Have:
- Strong business communication and stakeholder management skills
- Experience analyzing data using SQL
- Advanced problem solving skills and technical acumen
Nice to Have:
- Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) or Project Management Institute – Professional in Business Analysis (PMI – PBA) Certification
- Strong knowledge of fundamental data concepts (for example, but not limited to groups, hierarchies, data structures).
- Experience working with ML or AI tools
- Python knowledge
