Job Description

Following the retirement of a long term team member, we have an opportunity for an experienced operations administrator to join the Cement Australia team based at Pinkenba as Business Support Officer – Rail. You will support our rail operations to ensure cementitious products are available for collection at each rail head to meet demand forecasts.

We utilise road, rail and ship to deliver our broad range of products to where our customers need them. Within the capacity planning team, your focus will be providing business and admin support to ensure the efficiency of our rail tasks in Queensland. Day to day you will reconcile where the ISOs and fixed rail equipment are and give guidance to where they need to be. Critically, this means ensuring the data administration to support the changes is made efficiently.

With your high attention to detail and your operational mind, you will adapt to changes quickly, ensuring the rail assets are in the right place for our scheduling team to access and to meet the delivery plan…and ultimately delivering to our customers expectations.

About the role:

As our Business Support Officer - Rail you will:

  • Ensure the delivery-loading schedule is filled across all sectors in QLD for ISO and fixed rail equipment, monitoring bookings to minimise no show/cancellation costs
  • Liaise with Road scheduling on road delivery managing availability or rail assets including empty ISO return movements
  • Maintain accurate load transaction data to assist with reconciling rail billing
  • Monitor and communicate delivery plan and issue exception reports to the internal and external stakeholders
  • Develop and maintain relationships with all key stakeholders including rail providers, internal, external road transport, and commercial team
  • Assist with the monitoring and control of all operational requirements for ISO and fixed rail equipment across QLD
  • Assist in maintaining and managing daily maintenance schedules, including regulatory inspections
  • Assist in maintaining and managing SAP and DMS master data files
  • Provide and maintain accurate daily reporting systems to Management and Customers internal and external
  • Support the broader Terminals & Rail organisation in the strategic operations of QLD Rail to ensure operational and commercial outcomes are met or bettered
  • Monitor Railhead and Terminal stocks
  • Manage POs relating to rail

About you:

  • You are an experienced administrator with a solid background working in fast paced operations e.g. manufacturing and/or logistics
  • You are process driven with high attention to detail
  • You build excellent rapport with internal and external stakeholders and can leverage off your positive relationships for successful business outcomes
  • You are considered highly organised and can work autonomously
  • You thrive in a fast paced environment, remaining calm under pressure and adapting to changes quickly.
