The Internal Assurance team works in partnership with various IR business units to maintain the integrity of the tax and social policy system by solving complex problems, helping achieve business goals and delivering desired outcomes. We do this by applying our broad knowledge of IR, coupled with our understanding of risk, controls and assurance practices.

M&#333 te t&#363nga | About the role

This role will be responsible for leading planned assurance and advisory engagements from start to finish. This will include:

• Providing timely advice to the business on ways to design, strengthen and improve the efficiency and effectiveness of business systems
• Discussing engagement findings with management within the organisation and provide support with the development of remedial action
• Effectively negotiating and agreeing outcomes from reviews with business managers
• Efficiently managing engagements to agreed terms of reference, ensuring quality standards and deadlines are met
• Collaborating with other Internal Assurance team members and key stakeholders across IR
• From time to time, you will also be involved in responding to ad-hoc assignments, as requested by the business.

You will bring critical and analytical thinking to identify key themes, issues, and improvement opportunities; and consider how these affect the 'bigger picture'. You can confidently design pragmatic solutions for our customers, and effectively negotiate and agree outcomes with stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will possess the following attributes:

• 3+ years internal audit experience either in professional services or public sector
• Strong understanding of risk and control frameworks, including being able to apply this knowledge when working on different reviews
• Confidence to engage and build relationships with stakeholders, including senior management
• Effective communication skills, which includes expertise with listening and questioning
• A self-starter attitude with a willingness to continue growing and developing your internal audit practices and professionalism
• An ability to produce and present high quality written documents
• Experience with data analytics and the delivery of insights would be valuable
