Description
A note on Assignment Type: This position is currently listed as "Hybrid", however, the consultant will be remote due to COVID-19 related Work from Home (WFH) direction. Once the IT cluster staff are required to return to the office, the resource under this request will be required to work onsite as well.

Responsibilities:
Supports Client’s wide-ranging business information requirements, implementing and supporting business intelligence software solutions
Develops and supports customized query applications which analyze key business data
Develops and supports guided analysis and drill-down functionality, routine scheduling and notification of report generation, and effective implementation of “opportunity†and “key-trend†alerts.
Provides Clients with approach options and tools for managing business-related data in a manner that assists in quantitative analysis of progress and the relationship between operational actions and their effect on business objectives.
General Skills:
Experience with analyzing data in source systems to identify data cleanliness issues (e.g. missing values, duplicate meanings, and invalid data)
Experience with developing feedback processes to fix corrupt data in the source systems
Experience with developing data extraction, transformation, and load programs (daily and initial load) functionality on a wide-range of data repositories (relational and multi- dimensional data stores)
Experience with developing, implementing and maintaining schedule/dependency logic for Extract Transform Load (ETL) scripts
Experience with developing monitoring and error notification processes to ensure data is updated as designed
Experience with developing automation extraction, cleansing and load scripts
Experience generating research models and reports (scheduled and ad-hoc)
Proven troubleshooting and analytical experience
Experience in process decomposition/mapping and business process re-engineering and complex data models using UML.

Ability to provide expert advice in developing and integrating process and information models to enable identifying and eliminating redundant business processes
Experience with developing monitoring and error notification processes to ensure data is updated as designed
Hands on experience working with stakeholders to develop and document interface specifications design between Business Intelligence solutions and external applications
Extensive experience with conceptual, logical and physical data modelling tools like Power Designer, and Visio.
Knowledge and understanding of Accessibility for Ontarians with Disability Act (AODA) and related regulations and standards

· Demonstrated experience with database design (SQL Server, Oracle)
Experience developing BI and analytics Roadmaps for clients (e.g. Microsoft
BI)
· Working knowledge of advanced data visualization tools and techniques (statistical graphics, plots, information graphics). Some tools that would be of interest are Rshiny, Google Analytics, Tableau and Power BI
· Demonstrated experience with data preparation and scripting tools (such as R, OpenRefine, Python and DAX)
· Demonstrated experience with a range of analytical methods, techniques and tools: statistical analysis and modelling, data mining, machine learning and algorithms, natural language processing, business performance management, benchmarking text mining, predicative/prescriptive analysis and other related disciplines
· Demonstrated experience with statistics and analytical tools such as R/SAS/SPSS Demonstrated experience with data warehousing and dashboards
· Demonstrated experience with statistics and modelling techniques such as econometrics, theory of Probability and Statistics - inference based on survey data, confidence intervals, regression models - multinomial linear, logistic, ridge, machine learning algorithms - training, model evaluation, hyper parameters search techniques
Demonstrated experience developing data extraction, transformation, and load functionality for large relational
and multidimensional data stores
Other Technical Skills - 35%
· 10+ years experience with Business Analysis
· Demonstrated experience with design, development, and implementation utilizing analytics utilizing post-secondary administrative data assets.
· Demonstrated experience working with and analyzing large and diverse data sets, identifying relationships and themes.
· Demonstrated experience with the creating of detailed plans and accurate estimates toward development, testing, and implementation of project/programs
· Demonstrated experience reporting and documenting
· Demonstrated experience with data management, financial and business analysis, database architecture, and information visualization
Demonstrated experience with statistical analysis and modelling, data mining, machine learning and algorithms
Communication Skills - 25%
· Experience analyzing requirements in order to determine functional and system requirements; able to take concepts and lead initiatives from end to end
· Experience in documenting system design and producing technical specifications and architectural artefacts
· Experience working and communicating directly with business stakeholders; being able to provide guidance and advice to ensure the successful delivery of projects within the required timelines.
· Strong understanding of challenges and issues that arise in government projects which arise with respect to data
