Responsibilities

The purpose of this role  

As a Technology Specialist – Service, you are a functional business process and technical workload expert within the Microsoft Business Applications enterprise sales organization working with our most important customers. You play a key role in the total sales cycle by helping them with their end-to-end business transformation needs through envisioning, designing, and demonstrating solutions mapped to business value within the area of your workload expertise. You will collaborate across the sales opportunity journey with the Business Applications sales team, Microsoft partners and ISVs, other Technical Specialists, and our Customer Success team. You will additionally assist the Microsoft Business Applications Sales Executive in identifying, driving and successfully landing pipeline and customer solutions for the Customer Experience applications category.  


Key Areas of Responsibility-​

  • Workload and Business Process Expertise  
  • Achieve technical workload expertise for Business Applications Finance products.  
  • Participate in discovery sessions in each opportunity, yielding output of customer-agreed business challenges and win themes prioritized with business value.  
  • Maximize deal execution through the customer journey
  • Team with Sales Executives to uncover, identify and engage opportunities to drive category performance.  
  •  Build positive Business Decision Maker/CxO connections/engagements across category-specific roles with business value alignment by targeted personas.  
  • Engage in partner sell-with scenarios by contributing to the facilitation of technical engagements and partnering with colleagues to manage the sales process.   
  • Influences competitive strategy leveraging partner and internal teams; Acts as the voice of the customer by driving new feedback, blockers, insights, resource items across communities to support customer’s business outcomes and opportunities to promote usage.   
  • Share ideas, insight, and strategic-technical input with internal and external communities.
  • Provide thought leadership by acting as role model for the technical community and consistently sharing knowledge.

What skills do you need to have?

  • Collaborative. Work cohesively with members of the Microsoft sales & services team, Microsoft partners, engineering, and marketing to solve customer and partner issues, leverage best practices, & deliver results.

  • Deliver business impact with intentional planning, driving clarity to the team with consistent coaching rhythms, removing blockers and ensuring quarterly business budget goals are met.  
  • Maintains excellence in pipeline management, forecasting and driving integrated territory and budget achievement planning.  
  • Business solutions/line of business workload expertise by leveraging Service application experience in one or more of the following: Sales, Marketing, Service, and Supply Chain/Operations, how these solutions help customers achieve their desired business outcomes.
  • Business value selling methodologies and practices mapped to customer persona pains/issues to uncover customer’s stated and unstated needs.

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Relevant certifications from Microsoft or competitive platforms AND 3+ years technical pre-sales or technical consulting experience  
  • OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or related field AND 4+ years technical pre-sales or technical consulting experience  
  • OR equivalent experience.
