What is the opportunity?
In this role you will adjudicate and manage various specialty lines of business including but not limited to Accidental Weekly Indemnity, Accidental Death & Dismemberment, Critical Illness, Long Term Care, Royal Recovery Assist, in a team-oriented, multi-disciplinary, digital environment. You will also be responsible for applying appropriate risk management strategies, which will impact on the company’s financial results, reputation and regulatory risks, client relationships, and business retention.
What will you do?
• Responsible for the adjudication of claims utilizing a multidisciplinary claim management model to:
1) ensure objective, fair and thorough claim adjudication
2) comply with practices and procedures and regulatory requirements
3) provide the highest level of customer service and manage reputational risk
4) develop and implement claims management and return to work strategies on their assigned caseloads where warranted
• Assesses, researches and analyzes numerous contracts, documents the appropriate next steps while effectively and professionally communicating outcomes to our clients.
• Effectively communicate and build rapport with team members, stakeholders and business partners using a variety of techniques and collaboration from initiation to close.
• Resolves minor conflicts and issues and escalates to others as appropriate
What will you need to succeed?
• Post secondary education
• Must be fluently bilingual in both French and English, with excellent written and communication skills
• Minimum 5 years of direct claims experience
• Working towards an insurance industry designation (at minimum 1 course completed)
• Experience in effectively managing complex claims along with strong analytical and decision making skills
• Ability to multitask and balance multiple goals and priorities
• Demonstrated ability to effectively deal with customers in a manner that is professional with a high degree of customer service
