What is the opportunity?

This is a first point of contact specialized credit role that credit solutions and credit advice to personal banking clients. You will interact directly by engaging clients in conversation and by using active listening skills and effective probing questions to identify & understand the clients’ credit risk, conduct thorough reviews of clients' existing credit structure and unique circumstances. You will learn to mitigate the client’s credit risk by implementing changes to the credit structure and providing sound financial advice to clients.

What will you do?

• The ideal candidate is a confident, enthusiastic self-starter who takes ownership of & enjoys delivering a positive client experience in each client conversation
• Through a solid knowledge of RBC products & partners, is able to engage clients in a genuine conversation to identify and understand their immediate needs
• Apply credit principles and risk assessment learning
• Handle incoming and outgoing client calls to negotiate changes and credit restructuring
• Assess personal clients' credit structures and decide if changes are required to mitigate risk
• Collaborate with account managers and service partners to balance client needs with risk mitigation
• Apply sound credit judgment, customer service, and financial advice skills

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

• Proven client contact experience and a solid knowledge of Banking/Lending products and policies
• Fluent in French and English
• Ability to learn and apply credit risk policies and procedures for personal lending products, and obtain a DLA within a designated time frame
• Past experience in roles that require critical thinking, investigation and problem solving capabilities
• High level of empathy and emotional intelligence
• Professional oral and written communication and negotiation skills
• Flexible to work rotating shifts within the hours of 8am– 9pm Monday – Friday
• Ability to work efficiently in a call center environment

Nice-to-have

• Small Business or Personal lending experience
• Delegated Lending Authority
