As part of their digital transformation strategy, VirginMediaO2 has established an Automation Centre of Excellence (CoE) to execute the automation of their customer-facing and back office processes. These business processes must be executed faster with the aid of Automation toolsets, with accuracy and in some cases, in real time in order to support end-to-end digital customer journeys. The Automation CoE is responsible for the automation of VirginMediaO2 processes to support this strategic initiative.

 

From this perspective, the Automation CoE is a critical capability which will enable the business to transform its business model and support digitisation and vast operational efficiencies.

 

About the Role:

As the Automation Candidate Factory Lead, you’ll be the chief liaison person and “Front of House” representative at management level to evangelise the use of Automation and its associated benefits. You will manage a team of both internal and supplier resources that determine suitable candidates for automation. You will be accountable for driving the Automation pipeline and process.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Business manager/director level engagement & stakeholder management 
  • Create and continuously optimise our Automation process to T-Shirt size potential candidates
  • Ensure consistency with Federated delivery teams within VMO2 in terms of calibrating the Automation candidate benefit realisation
  • Ensure we have a robust and scalable methodology to track all pipeline candidates throughout the Candidate lifecycle
  • Ensure we have an efficient automated way of integrating our pipeline candidates, with the development factory quality gates and activities 
  • Ensure the Automation Pipeline factory can handover to our Development/Test factory efficiently and effectively
  • Creation of Automation CoE collateral (including Blogs and vBlogs, use-cases) in order to showcase the capabilities of Automation to business stakeholders
  • Create regular showcase forums and roadshows to our business directorates to demonstrate the capabilities of Automation
  • Ensure there is a robust methodology for federated delivery teams to align with the Automation CoE mechanics and benefit realisation process
  • Ensure all business stakeholders are regularly informed of the status of each candidates
  • Ensure there is a method to seamlessly handover to the Automation development/test factory each candidate

 

What We Need from You:

You’ll be a driven Automation Process manager who has relevant experience throughout the entire lifecycle of process improvements delivering digital workers using Robotic Process Automation Technologies.

 

Key Characteristics that are needed:

  • Experience in working with Process Improvement activities using Robotic Process Automation tools
  • Experience in running a team accountable for process improvement or Automation/RPA
  • Able to articulate the ‘What’ and ‘How’ Robotic Process Automation may benefit the VMO2 Organisation
  • Able to develop a demand pipeline that supports the business objective for Robotic Process Automation
  • Able to provide advice and guidance to the business with the ability to challenge business thinking
  • Communication skills and technics that enable clear and effective presentation of information to business stakeholders 
  • Soft skills – Excellent stakeholder management, facilitation and influencing  

 

The following are desirable:

  • Good knowledge of other Process improvement practises/methodologies, Eg: Lean Six Sigma, BPMN
  • Good knowledge of BluePrism RPA
  • Experience in lifecycle tools such as Jira & Confluence & Monday.com
