AUTISM COMMUNITY THERAPISTS WANTED
Do you have a passion and enthusiasm for working with young children? Are you interested in pursuing long-term work in the field of autism? Do you want to be part of a passionate team supporting young children on the autism spectrum? We are looking for several part-time community therapists who can work independently, can confidently communicate, problem solve, and quickly develop rapport with both children and their parents. 
These roles will involve providing high-quality therapy based on the Early Start Denver Model (ESDM) to children under 5 who are on the autism spectrum or showing signs of autism located within the Wellington region. Based in the Autism Resource Centre in Petone this role will require at least three hours of work per week of the school term with the high likelihood of extending to more hours once experience has been gained. Ongoing supervision and training will be provided in this role. In the first term, we will provide you with comprehensive training in ESDM techniques, including;
·        Theoretical learning of ESDM therapy delivery through workshops and online modules;
·        Practical learning through weekly supervised sessions with a child on the autism spectrum
Experience working with children with autism and a long-term commitment to working in the autism space are both highly desirable. You must be able to travel to Petone for the weekly therapy sessions.
