What is the opportunity?
You will manage a portfolio of existing client relationships by providing a wide spectrum of Foreign Exchange services. Service provided to clients will maximize spread revenue while ensuring customer loyalty and a high degree of Internet utilization.
You will actively seek and develop a portfolio of new client relationships by soliciting a wide spectrum of Foreign Exchange services and you will engage new clients to ‘deal direct’ with RBCCM in a manner that maximizes spread revenue for the firm and makes full use of our Internet-based technologies.
What will you do?
Transact with clients and the RBC distribution network over a variety of mediums (phone, Internet, orders) at a price point that maximizes spread revenue
Provide informed commentary to clients, interpreting market and economic events for the benefit of the client
Establish, maintain, and fine-tune pricing guidelines to ensure client retention
Maintain a Client Relationship Management (CRM) system to ensure equal access to client information by all team members
Promote the use of Internet dealing to maximize productivity
Sell a broad spectrum of hedging products (forwards, swaps, options) to help clients manage currency risk
Liaise with internal partners (accounts managers, IBC) in the overall management of client relationships
Source new client opportunities from existing RBC channels or externally
Promote the value proposition of dealing direct with the RBCCM Commercial FX team (price, technology, market expertise, and research & strategy)
Conduct market intelligence on competitors (both bank and non-bank) with the view to adapting marketing strategies for the incumbent’s local geography. Market intelligence to be shared with relevant parties (geographies)
Represent RBCCM at trade shows and other marketing opportunities
Promote RBCCM as the lead FX provider
Ensure that dealings with counterparties are confidential and fairly handled
Proactively identify operational risks/ control deficiencies in the business
Review and comply with Firm Policies applicable to your business activities
Escalate operational risk loss events, control deficiencies and risks that you identify to your line manager and the relevant risk and control functions promptly. Failure to do so may subject you to disciplinary action, up to and including termination
What you need to succeed?
A keen interest in FX markets is required.
Exposure to foreign exchange derivative instruments that includes forward contracts, swaps, and currency options would be an asset
Excellent organizational skills, multi-tasking, and managing conflicting priorities
Demonstrated high level of attention to detail and accuracy
Strong communication skills
Public speaking & presenting may form part of this mandate and therefore, comfort in speaking in a group setting
Proficiency in “cold calling†is an asset
A proficient skill level in Microsoft Office applications is necessary
Some travel for the purpose of client visitation, business development or internal meetings is likely and therefore, comfort with public transportation is necessary
