Our Journey at Cranbourne Centre 

The Day Surgery Unit at Cranbourne Centre is a two-theatre complex, incorporating Day Surgery and Sterilising Services.

Our current surgical specialties include Ophthalmology, General Surgery, Gynaecology and Colorectal however, with the planned elective surgery catch up strategy for 2023, we expect to be versatile and flexible by potentially adding a variety of specialities. We cater for both adult and paediatric patients through their entire surgical journey, from admission to theatre, PACU and discharge home. Our team is passionate, caring and committed to providing high quality day surgery services. As a valuable member of our leadership team, we are committed to working with you to become your professional best. We offer clinical education sessions, training on the job and career progression to enable you to further develop your clinical and leadership skills.

We operate Mon-Fri. 10 hour shifts, as rostered, are required. Hours of operation are 0700-1800.

We are a supportive and collaborative team who provide exceptional care to all of our patients undergoing surgery.

A day in the life

No two days will be the same as you work within an established, friendly and supportive team environment, working closely together to care for patients along with providing opportunities for staff development and growth in areas that staff are passionate about.

An exciting opportunity for an experienced Associate Nurse Manager (ANM) with perioperative background, has become available at Cranbourne Centre.

The responsibility or the ANM is to support the Nurse Managers and ensure safe and effective management of the day surgery on a shift by shift basis. You will support the Nursing staff and broader team in providing patient centred care, from admission of the patient, through the peri-operative phase to discharge. You will have access to resources to support you in this position, enabling you to further advance your surgical nursing and leadership skills whilst role modelling nursing excellence and delivering a high standard of patient centred care.  

There are two postilions’ available, full time with ADO and part time 60 hrs/ FN. Our ANMs are required to show a high level of dedication to their role, often being the first to arrive or the last to leave. What you bring 

As an Associate Nurse Manager you will have a passion for safe and effective leadership, proficient communication skills and established clinical expertise in either Scrub/Scout or Anaesthetics/Recovery nursing. Management experience is ideal but as a minimum must have demonstrated prior interest in leadership

  • Current AHPRA registration
  • Working with Children’s Check
  • Proven clinical experience in theatres and ideally Leadership and/or In-Charge
  • Minimum 3 years Registered Nurse experience
  • Relevant working visa
  • Relevant qualifications or experience in Perioperative Nursing
  • Updated immunisation history, including COVID 19 vaccinations.
