What is the opportunity?
You will support RBC’s focus on Public Private Partnerships (P3) and Project Finance transactions reporting to the Director, Corporate Client Group, Infrastructure Finance and Project Finance in Toronto. Initiative and responsibility are key to success along with analytical, communication and, writing skills, as well as documentation, and presentation abilities. Flexibility and enthusiasm is required to support and manage administrative duties and other initiatives and projects.
What will you do?
- You will be part of a growing national team of Project Finance professionals committed to the delivery of quality credit solutions to project sponsors and consortiums.
- Provide full engagement and support for monthly project draws including review of documentation, project costs reconciliation against invoices and monthly technical reports, tracking project draws, liaising with the clients and other lenders as required, and ensuring compliance with loan agreements
- Provide analysis to Director Infrastructure and Project Finance in connection with responsibilities to manage and monitor the loan portfolio, including timely reporting of material shifts in risk, client needs, market pricing, and structure
- Support the team to structure, deliver, document, close, and monitor syndicated and bi-lateral senior debt transactions under the direction of the Director Infrastructure and Project Finance, including due diligence, credit submissions, transaction monitoring, research, associated analysis, client support and transaction presentations in a timely and professional manner
- Provide analysis, and support to Director CCG Infrastructure and Project Finance on risk and return associated with loan transactions contemplated as part of client strategies
- Be completely engaged and support the Director Infrastructure and Project Finance in supporting the CCG mandate to develop and maintain a business pipeline, and to close loan transactions sufficient in number to meet revenue plans
- Follow up and engage with partners in Loan Syndications, Corporate Banking, Derivatives, Debt Capital Markets, Corporate Client Group Relationship and Finance teams, Global Loans Administration, Loan Agency Group and other areas, under direction of Director
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
- Undergraduate degree with a focus in Business, Finance or Economics
- Attention to detail with the ability to meet deadlines, multitask
- Demonstrated skills in financial modelling, including financial sensitivity and scenario worksheets
- Analytical, financial, credit and accounting skills with the ability to effectively communicate and present information using MS PowerPoint and Excel
- Personal and relationship skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment
Nice-to-have
- CPA, CA, CFA or other relevant professional designation – ongoing or completed
- Work experience in corporate lending/finance, or real estate and construction lending
- Work experience in P3, project finance lending
- Understanding and familiarity with RBC internal processes
- French language skills, both written and verbal
