We are seeking an Assistant Manager for our Columbus Cafe. This position is ideally suited for someone wanting to gain management experience in a busy, challenging environment. In this role you will have the ability to cope well under pressure and be relaxed and approachable with our customers.

You will report directly to the Cafe Manager and will be responsible for working on the floor and as a barista as well as supervising the efficient and smooth running of the café alongside the Cafe Manager on a day to day basis.

We are looking for an Assistant Manager with the following:

• At least 5 years Barista experience;
• A food handling certificate or equivalent;
• You will be demanding of the highest of standards, both of yourself and the staff you supervise;
• You will be organised and methodical in your approach to the job, with the ability to see the big picture and direct staff accordingly;
• Excellent communication skills and being a people person is essential;
• The ability to learn new skills;

This is a full time position, 40 hours with one weekend day to be worked, flexibility to cover additional hours is a requirement.
