This is your opportunity to join a growing Te Manatū Taonga as an Assistant Adviser to support a Tier 2 Deputy Chief Executive.

Kōrero mō te tūranga | About the role
We are looking for a team player who can provide high quality assistant adviser support to the Deputy Chief Executive of our Te Iho | Organisational Performance Group. Using your exceptional organisational and time management skills, you will provide outstanding email and diary management, while using your judgement and prioritisation skills to manage incoming requests, and flexibility to advise on projects and priorities. 

Kōrero mōu | About you
You are the visible face for your manager, and a trusted adviser with the ability to speak for your manager while maintaining confidentiality over highly sensitive information. You will be able to think critically, write clearly and assist the DCE with their priority work. 

This position also provides back up to other administrative areas of the Group and is part of the Te Kāhui Hāpai | Ministry Support Team.

You will need to demonstrate:

  • Confident and clear communication skills, with an eye for detail
  • Exceptional email and diary management, with great organisational and time management skills
  • An ability to apply knowledge of te reo, tikanga and the Treaty of Waitangi, or have the willingness and commitment to learn
  • Sound problem-solving skills with the ability to think pragmatically and critically
  • Being a team player, flexible, and if you have a few project coordination skills, even better!
