Job Description
The Applications Development Intermediate Programmer Analyst is an intermediate level position responsible for participation in the establishment and implementation of new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology team. The overall objective of this role is to contribute to applications systems analysis and programming activities.
Responsibilities:
- Utilize knowledge of applications development procedures and concepts, and basic knowledge of other technical areas to identify and define necessary system enhancements, including using script tools and analyzing/interpreting code
- Consult with users, clients, and other technology groups on issues, and recommend programming solutions, install, and support customer exposure systems
- Apply fundamental knowledge of programming languages for design specifications.
- Analyze applications to identify vulnerabilities and security issues, as well as conduct testing and debugging
- Serve as advisor or coach to new or lower level analysts
- Identify problems, analyze information, and make evaluative judgement to recommend and implement solutions
- Resolve issues by identifying and selecting solutions through the applications of acquired technical experience and guided by precedents
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
Qualifications:
- More than 5 years of relevant experience in the Financial Service industry
- Intermediate level experience in Applications Development role
- Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication
- Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines or unexpected changes in expectations or requirements
- Experience on IBM mainframe CICS, DB2, VSAM, Liberty, COBOL, easytrieve, JCL is mandatory.
- Experience on Java programming, Restful API, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud is desired.
- 5 years of Debit card and customer relationship management experience.
- Strong knowledge related debit card authentication, embossing and customer creation/maintenance end to end process is distinct advantage.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience

- At least 3-year of expert technical working knowledge in the retail banking systems industry
- Excellent working knowledge in the 24x7 retail banking processing cycle and reconciliation
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skill Strong Core Banking domain knowledge on Retail Banking authentication and authorization pertaining to Customer Demographics and Debit Card Processor
- Past working technical experience in at least one of these applications: Customer Demographics System, Debit or Debit Card System, Card issuance/embossing, Checking/Savings Accounts, Loans, Time Deposit, General Ledger, Statements and Advices, Transfer and Payments, CICS applications, API, ICSF InfoSec development is a pre-requisite
- Past proven record of delivery of the cutting edge technology related to ApplePay, 3D Secured, Mobile Payment, Tokenization, eCommerce transaction support is a plus
- Ability to provide analysis, program coding, debugging and testing in the IBM Mainframe environment is the pre-requisite
- Affluent in Mainframe technology stacks, CICS, DB2, COBOL, Easytrieve, VSAM, JCL is a prerequisite; ability to code in Java is a plus
- Familiar and working experience in Agile methodology and SDLC process
- Strong written, communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
- Strong technical documentation skill
