He angitūtanga: The opportunity
On a daily basis, you will be responsible for ensuring all animals in the accommodation area are cared for which includes feeding, exercising, and cleaning. Provide enrichment and training as required. With strong communication skills, you will be customer-focused by way of assisting with adoptions, education, and building relationships with internal and external customers.
This role works Tuesday to Saturday including weekends public holidays. The hours will be 40 hours per week with a 7:30 am start time. The role is primarily based in Silverdale, however, flexibility is required to work at other shelters in Henderson and Manukau when needed.
He kÅrero mÅu: About you
You will be able to demonstrate competent animal handling skills coupled with outstanding customer service. You will need to be flexible, have a great work ethic and be able to withstand the physical requirements of this role. You will impress with your excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Previous animal handling or husbandry is required for this role. An animal care certificate or equivalent qualification would be advantageous (but not a compulsory requirement).
