What is the opportunity?
The purpose of this position is to support the RBC Wealth Management supplier management initiatives. You will be responsible for supporting the Wealth Management platform activities and efforts on Supplier Management, which include but are not limited to: spend analysis, monitoring activities, compliance & audit related activities and supporting the overall Supplier Relationship Management Program and processes, as required.
What will you do?
Support the Senior Manager, Operational Resilience. This includes:
- Create the annual net new Supplier spend inventory for the Wealth Management platform, investigate/interpret third party spend to determine whether it is in scope for risk assessment and summarize the analysis for reporting to senior management
- Program Support - Support and provide direction to Wealth Management stakeholders on Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) best practices and use of the SRM tools (e.g. Ivalua, Supplier Risk Management Application (SRMA), etc.)
- Provide support with the non-supplier third party policies and standards implementation
- Support various Wealth Management stakeholders on understanding the responsibilities they have as a business along with the support provided to them by the Wealth Management, Supplier Management Office
- Ensure the appropriate application of supplier governance; ensure monitoring of supplier performance against established service level commitments and client expectations; reports on supplier risk and escalate, as required
- Act as key support for WM anchored suppliers as well as non-WM anchored suppliers where WM has an arrangement. This could include addressing ad-hoc questions, advising field Supplier Managers about SRM program activities, performing investigations and analysis as required
- Provide the WM community with subject matter expertise regarding usage of the various tools, databases and application related to the SRM platform (i.e. Ivalua, SRMA)
- Supports the rollout of new tools, including change management and adoption
- Fully understands the organizational resources, priorities, needs and policies including an understanding of OSFI B10, the RBC Enterprise Policy on Sourcing Products & Services from Third Parties and other related risk management approaches
- Conduct ad-hoc supplier research in support of new or expanding supplier relationships as required
- Assist the Manager with executing and managing audit related activities
- Other projects, as assigned
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
- 3 years of combined knowledge, skill and background in risk practices, supplier management, audit or compliance functions, preferably within one or more businesses in WM or comparable businesses
- Strong problem solving, analytical (including qualitative and quantitative analysis) and research skills are essential
- Must have advanced Microsoft Office skills (e.g. Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint)
- Ability to deal effectively with senior managers and multiple stakeholders; very strong communication skills and ability to present information effectively to various audiences
- Ability to work effectively & efficiently under tight timelines
Nice-to-have
- Excellent knowledge of Wealth Management and RBC’s products, processes and organization
- Excellent knowledge of RBC’s SRM suite of tools (e.g. SRMA, Ivalua)
- University Degree or recognized Industry Qualifications
- Management or equivalent courses
