About the role 

The Analyst role is a team member position in the Research and Evaluation team, which sits within the Regulatory Effectiveness group.

The Analyst role contributes to the development and delivery of coherent, integrated and strategically focused research, evaluation and analysis to support the outcomes and outputs collectively expected from their team, group and wider WorkSafe.

You will be successful in this role if you have knowledge and experience in research and evaluation concepts and methods as they are applied in a policy and operational environment coupled with experience designing and undertaking mixed method approaches including quantitative and qualitative analysis.

 

Key responsibilities

  • Supporting WorkSafe to shape health and safety system strategies and cross-cutting programmes that deliver on system outcomes and targets.
  • Working with Senior and Principal Analyst team members to commission, project manage and oversee evaluation and research deliverables.
  • Providing and applying insights from evaluation and research to problems focussed within specific industry sectors, or across multiple sectors affecting health and safety outcomes for New Zealand workers.
  • Supporting WorkSafe to design operational approaches that deliver on business outcomes and targets through close co-operation and support aligned to team business plans.
  • Maintaining a strong and accessible evidence-base to enable others within WorkSafe to make the best harm prevention intervention investment choices within the organisation's available resourcing.

 

You will be successful in this role if you: 

  • A post-graduate tertiary qualification in social science, occupational health, or behavioural science.
  • Minimum of one to two years' professional experience in a public or private sector research role.
  • Working knowledge and practical experience in social science research.
  • Demonstrated relationship management skills and the ability to work with a variety
  • of internal and external stakeholders
