A career in trading at National Bank means participating in the transformation to have a direct impact on the client. As an Analyst or Associate in the Equity Derivatives Group, you will be called upon to serve the needs of three main types of clients (institutional investors, corporate clients and individuals) by offering structured investment products and traditional hedging methods. You will be involved in a variety of structured notes transactions and may quickly assume responsibilities with international clients.

Your role 

• Take charge of the execution of structured notes offerings, which includes handling pricing requests and the execution of new issuances and secondary market transactions
• Master the various structures and technical aspects of the transactions, manage and coordinate outstanding pricings requests with the structuring team
• Develop new tools to improve internal processes, improve process automation to support the group’s business development growth plan and maintain databases related to outstanding transactions
• Ensure coordination between the different trading, operational and legal teams during the execution of the different transactions with international clients
• Execute Over-the-counter for hedging purposes
• Review the financial aspects of the legal documentation during the execution of new transaction
• Master the various structured note issuance platforms and maintain up-to-date data/information on these platforms
• Manage the preparation and submission of the onboarding process for new clients
• Prepare material and presentations for clients

The team is growing with the addition of a new position that will primarily support the activities related to the issuance of structured notes in the main distribution channels in the U.S. With this new position, a team of 2 people reporting to the Managing Director will support the day-to-day operations in the U.S., allowing us to continue to develop new distribution channels in the U.S. as well as in other markets.

Competencies required

• Master's degree in finance, accounting, economics, mathematics or any related field
• Achieved outstanding academic performance
• Knowledge in programming (VBA required) and Bloomberg
• A keen interest in the capital markets
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate and maintain relationships with external clients and internal partners
• Ability to work in a high-pressure environment and in a team environment
• French and English (spoken and written)

• High level of attention to detail and ability to manage time appropriately
• Advanced oral and written communication skills
