The Finance Team manages the performance and risk profile of Bell, ensuring the needs of customers, investors and employees are balanced with long-term business success. We work closely with internal and external stakeholders to develop and execute plans that help the company achieve its strategic objectives and ensure financial sustainability.  

 

BCE’s Corporate Controller’s accounting group forms part of the overall corporate finance team reporting to the controller and CFO. The corporate accounting group’s main responsibilities are the development and monitoring of accounting policies, external reporting for a public company, strategic planning as well as consolidation of results and coordination with subsidiaries and parent company, and the overall integrity of results.

 

The Consolidation/Intercompany group, as part of the Corporate Controller’s group, is a team responsible for assisting with the preparation of the monthly consolidated financial statements of BCE. The team works closely with the External Reporting group ensuring the accuracy and completeness of the BCE financial statements. Key responsibilities are ensuring appropriate intercompany eliminations, consolidation entries, and cash-flow preparation.

 

Job Duties / Accountabilities :

Analyze and present monthly intercompany results, provide explanations to key disconnects at the legal entity and management view

Assess financial risks and opportunities on existing and potential interco issues

Partner seamlessly with other finance groups to address and prevent intercompany disconnects, process issues and roadblocks and provide recommendations

Work with planning team in regard to intercompany for the budgeting process

Assist in the preparation and review of BCE’s quarterly and annual reports

Proactively identify opportunities to improve financial processes (automation and streamlining) and implement appropriate enhancements

Journalize consolidation adjustments

Key role in new and on-going special projects (acquisition, amalgamation, entity / interco-accounts status change in SAP, IFRS15, etc)

Critical Qualifications / Competencies:

CPA designation

2-4 years of relevant work experience in similar responsibilities

Excellent analytical and problem solving skills

Ability to meet deadlines and to work under time pressure

Strong sense of responsibilities, initiative and creativity

Strong organizational and planning skills

Strong team orientation and collaborative skills

Proficiency in Excel, knowledge in BPC, SAP and Power Point is an asset

 

Bilingualism is an asset (English and French); adequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.
