Kōrero mō te tūranga | About the Role

This is an Analyst role in the Regions, Enterprise and Economic Development team. Through our advice to Ministers, and our work with other agencies, the team shapes and influences finance and policy across a broad range of areas.  These include:

  • Economic and regional development
  • Energy and resources
  • Research, science and innovation
  • Small business and tourism.

You will be responsible for one or more areas of spending and associated policy issues.  There will be opportunities to:

  • advise on policy, regulatory and investment proposals considered by Cabinet
  • demonstrate and develop your relationship management and strategic policy skills.

Ō pūmanawa | About You

You're a high performer who is keen to further your development and broaden your experience.  In addition to a tertiary qualification and at least two years' experience, you will bring:

  • Excellent written and verbal skills with the ability to communicate complex issues and concepts clearly, succinctly and with influence to a range of audiences
  • Aptitude for critical thinking and a strong analytical ability
  • Intellectual curiosity and receptiveness to different viewpoints
  • An ability to work collaboratively with others to achieve objectives and develop solutions.

Some public policy experience would be an advantage, but we are interested in candidates from a broad range of backgrounds.
