The Role

AML/Fraud Senior Managers in our Banking and Financial Services (BFS) consulting teams are responsible for the success of large-scale transformational projects for top tier banks and financial services firms in Canada and around the world. Furthermore, they are expected to provide deep AML/Fraud expertise sought by clients and act as an AML/Fraud strategy, risk, operations and/or regulatory subject matter resource within the firm to support projects and conversations with prospective clients. They must play an active role in the development of the business and improve the practice robustness through thought leadership and training material creation.

In addition, senior managers often take up leadership and transversal roles during large-scale engagements involving other Cognizant practice and service lines.

Responsibilities

Consulting engagement execution

• Identifying critical factors related to the successful delivery of each engagement
• Displaying creative and critical thinking to solve current challenges of and protect future threat to clients
• Architecting AML/Fraud solutions—including policy, strategy, operating model, risk assessment, and technology solutions--to add perceivable and measurable value to clients
• Bring relevant expertise of AML/Fraud regulatory, operational and technology capabilities, requirements, and best practices to bear upon each engagement to inform project outcomes and arrive at viable solutions. Navigating complex ecosystems of stakeholders having competing priorities within an environment of demanding regulatory, technology and operational constraints Developing / maintaining relations with senior executives
• Positioning Cognizant for up-sales and / or cross sales
• Participating in the improvement of Cognizant’s brand recognition in local markets through the utilization of business contacts and / or stellar performance on projects
• Coaching team members and actively helping them in their professional growth

Thought leadership

• Conducting research on AML/Fraud market, regulatory and industry trends
• Leading the development of new AML/Fraud services consulting offerings
• Co-authoring articles and whitepapers showcasing the firm’s thought leadership in AML/Fraud
• Assisting in managing the firm’s knowledge assets

Practice development

• Acting as a leader and mentor for internal teams
• Developing training materials and modules
• Actively sharing knowledge and providing coaching and guidance within team structures
• Performing case interviews

 Business development support

• Leading pre-sales activities
• Developing and reviewing presentations and proposals for clients and prospects
• Identifying additional AML/Fraud opportunities within existing client systems
• Attracting new clients and developing enhanced market offerings in AML/Fraud

Qualifications

8+ years of management consulting experience at an established consultancy or advisory group

• Superb written and verbal communication (French [Québec only] and English)
• Gravitas and ability to relate to senior executives in order to influence and persuade towards team objectives
• Bachelor of Engineering, commerce, business, economics, or similar discipline (MBA or other graduate studies an asset)
• Domain experience and credentials in two or more of the following BFS areas — retail banking, commercial banking, lending and mortgage, cards and payments, capital markets and wealth management, risk and regulations, cards, and payments, fintech platforms, and digital technologies
• Specific expertise in AML/Fraud program management and capabilities including (but not limited to): policy advisory, governance, risk assessment, operating model design, process engineering, technology design, selection and implementation, vendor/third party solutions and landscape, transaction monitoring, investigation and reporting, AML/Fraud analytics, data and modeling
• Demonstrable skills in core consulting tools (including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, Access etc.), methodologies (e.g., data analytics, data visualization, process mapping), frameworks and storyboarding
• Honed skills in leading teams in high-impact, high-pressure environments
• Broad, enterprise-wide business perspectives, and at least intermediate level proficiency in several of business and technology strategy, operations / process improvement, capabilities building, enabling technologies, and organization / governance
• Ability to apply deep understanding of domain and industry frameworks to plan, define and solution client engagements, with an appreciation of top down as well as bottom-up approaches to solution engagement

• Experience in program / project management techniques, including use of agile and waterfall frameworks, governance principles, risk management principles, and partner relationship management
• Proficiency in business architecture
• Self-starter and outcome-focused problem solver
• Strong work ethic with a commitment to client service excellence
