Job Description

Role Summary

The Aircraft Engineering group is primarily responsible for the development and certification of connectivity and wireless IFE systems and components for line fit and retrofit of commercial aircraft. This role is responsible for generating and checking wiring diagrams, mechanical engineering drawings and designs for modifications to commercial aircraft. Partnering with Software Development, Systems Engineering and Hardware Engineering as appropriate.  Performing system test design and execution as needed.

This a contract to FTE role. You will be converted to FTE if performance is satisfactory after 6 months.

Location: Anywhere in US.

Remote Options: 100% remote

What You'll Be Doing 

  • Design the electrical aspects for the integration of Anuvu’s broadband and video-on-demand systems into the aircraft.
  • Accomplish detailed design of aircraft equipment installations and modifications.
  • Prepare and/or check documentation to ensure satisfaction of customer, company and regulatory requirements.
  • Work to quickly resolve manufacturing and installation problems.
  • Monitor and report status against project requirements.
  • Provide electrical engineering expertise and communicate relevant information within the organization and supporting groups.
  • Perform additional duties as directed, some travel and on-aircraft testing may be required.

What We’re Looking For  

  • BS Degree in Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering.
  • 1-3 years of experience in aviation/aerospace preferred.
  • Requires working knowledge of and experience with aircraft design methodologies and standard practices.
  • Requires working knowledge of CAD; Solidworks and AutoCAD preferred. Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Must be comfortable working with aggressive deadlines.
  • True self-starter with the ability to create alternative solutions.
  • Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of STC process and experience working with FAA Designated Engineering Representative (DER) a plus.
