Description

Our Client are now starting the process for their Air Traffic Controller Intake of trainees for 2022 and are encouraging you to apply.

The Air Traffic Controller positions are based out of 30 locations across the country after training and final assessments have taken place in Melbourne.

Excitingly whilst undertaking the training you will be paid and will also work towards a Diploma in Aviation, so will also achieve extra education.

The training will be undertake in a state of the art facility in Melbourne where all of the most up to date technology and training will be at your fingertips including simulation and everything which would reflect working in a rel life air traffic controller environment.

There are 2 stages of training, initial training (phase 1) which can take up to 18 months and then Field Training (Phase 2) which could take a further 6 months- so those applying need to be fully dedicated, be willing to relocate to Melbourne whilst undertaking all of the training and essentially treat the traineeship as if they have relocated and taken a job offer.

There are multiple stages of the recruitment process, before being successfully selected including:-

1. Pre Screening after application

2. Online Testing which will include verbal reasoning, spacial awareness and numerical testing and personality testing

3. Further testing if the initial testing is passed- Memory, relationships, accuracy

4. Video Interview

5. If all the above is passed, your eligibility will then be re assessed to ensure you can move to the next crucial stages and you have all minimum requirements

6. Assessment Centre- either virtually or attended in person (covid dependant)

The above process could take around 10 weeks in total from submitting your application to the end at point 6 above.

The role itself is worked on a 365 days a year roster, 24 hours a day shift patterns- but rosters are prepared several months in advance so you can plan your personal life in line with this.

2 years after commencing training and fully qualifying you could be earning over $100k + super in these positions which is an excellent salary to earn based on being paid to be trained and earning whilst you learn.

Profile

There are stringent eligibility requirements for being able to successfully apply for the role, it is worth noting these in advance, as if you get to stage 5 above and aren't eligible you will have wasted a lot of time!

• You must be an Australian Citizen
• At least 18 years of age
• You must have a minimum education of a Year 12 Certificate (International qualifications will need to be assessed by relevant body as to prove equivalence) English and Mathematics must have been passed
• If not in Melbourne, willing to relocate to Melbourne for the duration of the training (2 years+)

It is also worth thinking deeply about whether you have the cognitive abilities required for such a role including working well under pressure, being focused for long periods of time, spatial awareness, strong mathematical skills, whether you will meet medical and security clearances required and if you are willing and able to work 365 days a year on a 24/7 roster.

You must also be able to commit to the full training period and commit once undertaken training to then proceed into a qualified Air Traffic Controller role.
